CENTRAL OHIO CAP COUNCIL UAW ENDORSES EMMA JONES FOR DELAWARE MUNICIPAL CLERK OF COURTS
Delaware, Ohio – Central Ohio CAP Council UAW is pleased to announce the endorsement of Emma Jones for Delaware Municipal Clerk of Court for the November 2019 local election.
“I am extremely honored to receive the endorsement of the Central Ohio CAP Council UAW,” said Emma Jones, a local attorney and Clerk of Court Candidate. “My father worked for GM Lordstown, so I am a daughter of the UAW. I’m a working-class kid who understands the importance of having everyone pull together for the same mutual goal. It’s extremely important to me that all people who enter the courthouse should be treated fairly and with dignity no matter what their background might be. I truly believe in putting We the People First.”
The Central Ohio CAP (Community Action Program) Council UAW encompasses the Central Ohio United Auto Workers membership. The International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (known as UAW for short) is one of the largest and most diverse unions in North America, with members in virtually every sector of the economy.

CLERK OF COURT CANDIDATE EMMA JONES TO PARTICIPATE IN LICENSE REINSTATEMENT CLINIC
ON FRIDAY, JULY, 26, 2019 AT THE DELAWARE MUNICIPAL COURT
Delaware, Ohio – Emma Jones, a licensed attorney and Candidate for the Office of Delaware Municipal Clerk of Court, will participate as a volunteer attorney in the License Reinstatement Clinic to be held at the Delaware Municipal Court. Ms. Jones will join other volunteer attorneys who will be on hand to provide advice to individuals and to assist clients in simple municipal court appearances. Ms. Jones is a self-employed, public defender (court-appointed attorney) in Delaware and Franklin Counties and ordinarily works with indigent clients in Delaware Municipal Court.
“I have represented so many thoughtful and hard-working people over the years that really struggled to stay on track when their licenses were suspended,” said Attorney Emma Jones. “It’s really hard to get to work on time and back around Delaware County without a valid driver’s license and reliable car. I'll be doing what I love to do most – helping my neighbors and friends regain control over a little part of their lives. I truly hope this clinic is a huge success.”

WHAT: The Legal Aid Society of Columbus (LASC) is partnering with the Delaware Municipal Court, the Delaware County Department of Job & Family Services, the Delaware County Child Support Enforcement Agency, the Ohio State Bar Association, Ohio BMV, Ohio Legal Assistance Foundation, and members of the Delaware County Bar Association to offer a special one-day event to assist individuals in Delaware County with reinstating their drivers’ licenses.
WHEN: Friday, July 26, 2019 – Ms. Jones will be present for the afternoon session from noon until 4:00 P.M only due to a prior court commitment in the morning.
WHERE: Delaware Municipal Court, 70 North Union Street, Delaware, OH
Ms. Jones is a self-employed, court-appointed public defender and member of the Delaware County Bar Association with a history of advocating for youth and others in need of competent legal representation. Her law practice is predominantly in juvenile law as a guardian ad litem for abused and neglected children and counsel for juveniles in delinquency matters in Delaware and Franklin Counties. However, she also represents parents of children who are wards of the state and adults charged with misdemeanors in Municipal Court or low level felonies in Common Pleas. She is also a guardian for elder adults in probate court and is a court-qualified mediator.
The License Reinstatement Clinic is being hosted in part by Ms. Jones’ opponent, the incumbent Clerk of Delaware Municipal Court.
